ABOUT ME
My name is Almir Hamzabegovic and I am a 17-year old senior currently attending Sports and Medical Sciences Academy in Hartford. My parents were immigrants from Bosnia and ever since then, they always taught my brother and me the importance of education. At a young age, I always found love in reading, distracting myself through reading and as I kept on reading, the more important I realized reading was in helping my education. It not only helped me in furthering my education and knowledge but in helping me feel overall more satisfied with life and happier. I’ve always wanted to give back to kids seeing as my own generation found reading less and less “cool,” as we grew up and the value of reading got devalued for social media despite social media being unhealthier for kids and providing a more toxic environment. This is why I’ve always wanted to give back to kids, and this is why I’m giving back to my community by running a book club for middle schoolers and my fellow seniors. This is why I’ve dedicated myself to showing the importance of reading.
MISSION STATEMENT
MY GOAL
I value the idea of happiness. I believe that a job should be able to make you money but also make you happy and that if you have to sacrifice some money to be happy, you should. I’ve always been a good listener and reader and I want to work on my skills in these talents and writing. I want to make a positive change for the world as well giving back by listening to the complaints people have and trying to solve them. I’m not talking about world hunger but the problems people have in their daily lives and make them happy. I see myself working to become a lawyer while majoring in English to make myself happy but also make money to live a comfortable life. I’d like to be seen as someone who worked their hardest to make other people happy but himself too and tried his best to make the best out of life.
